Michigan football landed another defensive back from the transfer portal on Friday and this one hit close to home for Michigan State as former Spartan Jaden Mangham is now a Wolverine.

The reaction was predictable when Michigan State fans started freaking out about Mangham taking a visit. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder who earned honorable mention All-Big Ten after 53 tackles and four interceptions, also considered Ohio State and Nebraska.

Mangham visited Columbus and Lincoln before taking a trip to Michigan football. Yet, that visit made things clear as he announced a commitment soon after.

The Wolverines have landed three players from the transfer portal since Thursday night and all of them are in the secondary. Aamir Hall was the first and was an FCS All-American last season for Albany. Wesley Walker also transferred from Tennessee and was one of the top-rated safeties that was supposed to return to the SEC.

Michigan State player calls Jaden Mangham “soft”

Both of them now play for the good guys. Mangham does too and Michgan State fans hate it. Some of his former teammates do too as Ken Talley, a guy who barely played for the Spartans last season, said Mangham was “Soft anyway lol.”

Mangham was one of the best players on a Michigan State defense that ranked 86th overall in scoring defense. However, on a team with one of the best defensive lines in the country and another defensive coordinator from the NFL, not to mention dudes like Will Johnson, Mangham should thrive.

If he wants to get drafted and have a chance to win a championship, the decision to transfer to Michigan football from Michigan State seems like a no-brainer.

Even if it is hard for some to understand.
